Again me.....i have the superb 04 plate 1.9tdi 130bhp.now having electrical problem:

1.Occasionally all the instruments drop to zero and then come back, also resets the trip mileage

2.the back window and the central locking for the same door sometime is working sometimes no

3.the cassete player light is flassing when i have the lights on,and also the lights from the console where the switches for the windows are.

i had looked at the pollen filter and everything there is dry.

any sugestions?

Check the load reduction relay by substitution. German "matchbox" relays nearly always end up intermittent due to fatigued and broken soldered joints.

I think it's 370 from memory.

Look behind the fuses at the bank of relays and find one with "370" on it. VAG often kindly mount them upside down which helped a lot in the days of relay 109/601.

Pull it out and try another.
