Removing Fuel Pump/sender

Featured Replies

hi guys;

as i said before, my car sat on a yard for 8+ month taking the abuse of the elements, maybe all the petrol got dried out or whatever, but i need to change the fuel pump, a persons sugested servicing the pump instead of chaging the hole unit, i thought i might take it out to have a look see.

problem is the two hoses coming in and out of the tank, i dont see a way of disconecting them and i thought to myself cavehead tech is not going to work so i figure i post here for a way to remove them. any idea?

planing on chaging the fuel pump/sender but a friend has a fuel pump that might fit in the same housing, is that posible, to replace just the pump? also, those the fuel pump have a filter in tank that can get clogged by dried pertol?

any help would be appreciated.

edit: its a MPi 1.4 8v
