Hi,

Driving at the weekend I heard a piece of metal fall from underneath the car. I stopped and had a look as soon as I could and couldn't see anything obviously wrong. After driving back I saw the part (A small U shaped clamp/bracket no longer than 3/4 inches at a guess). Ive had a brief look tonight and cant see anything though the darkness doesn't help! My guess is an exhaust clamp, does anyone else have any suggestions for what this part is/where it came from? The car is a 2001 1.4Mpi Fabia.

any chance of a photo of the offending item?

would help identfy it a bit easier,

also from where you found it can you work out a rough area of the car it came from, front, rear, nearside or offside (assuming it was on your drive)

No photo unfortunately as it fell off when I was driving and was in a place where I couldn't really stop. The part ended up in the middle of the road.
