climate control

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2006 superb with faulty climate control. The fault is that the temperature flap is jammed on hot the demister/footwell flap wont adjust and the recirculate flap is jammed. I took the car to an auto electrician and it came up with the 3 faults. He tried changing the temp flap but all this did was re order the faults on his machine. Has anyone had this fault or have any ideas what it could be. I have checked the passenger carpet and its dry as a bone as is the convenience ecu. Everything else in the car works apart from the led in the drivers mirror. The faults which show up on the climate unit itself are 25b, 4F7 and 4FA.

There are no other fault codes in the car and everything interior wise seems to work. The blower motor functions ok and I can set the air to blow directly throught the centre vents but nothing else. As a side note the control panel doesnt beep when I press the cold temperature button.

any help would be much appreciated as I am sick of cooking myself every time I use the car.

Tom

Pull out stereo (or is it the drawer?) and check cables behind the climatie control unit. Move plugs about etc. Could be as simple as connection problem there

I was running some cables (power supply for pda and phone) around the back of climate control unit and noticed that climate control cabling can be interrupted quite easily.

ok will check that, does anyone know of any others other than water ingress that would cause this? has anyone had any problems with the control unit itself?

have checked the cables and they are ok and I am thinking about buying a new control unit to test this. I have checked the part number and it is 3U0 907 044A, the only ones I can find on ebay look the same but have the part number 1U1 907 044A from an octavia vrs. Are the two interchangeable as the last lot of characters are the same? are the first three digits just a model code for the original vehicle fitment?

Just in case anyone else has this problem with multiple fault codes the control panel was broken. I changed it with a second hand one on ebay and it now all works.
