CAN GATEWAY - Help

Featured Replies

Hi, i own a 05 Octavia break with full maxidot, MFSW and bluetooth , i am in process of fitting a Columbus head unit.

For what i have seen in here, the head unit should be the 1Z...., and now comes the drain battery problem.

I have to change the gateway, the one that is fitted as this part nr: ( info taken with VCDS 912 )

Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 1K0-907-530.lbl

Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 E HW: 1K0 907 951

Component: Gateway H09 0110

Revision: 09 Serial number: 270010511902A7

Coding: 3D3F07C0072302

Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000

Now comes the questions:

Is the 1K0 907 530 AD gateway valid for my car ?

This gateway solve the drain battery problem?

Can i code it with the VCDS version i own ( i see that the last version of gateways require the last version of VCDS )?

Thanks in advance

Hi, yes, absolutely, you have revision E which will cause battery drain with the Columbus/Bolero on later firmware. I, and plenty of others on here, have replaced their CAN gateway with revision AD, which is the latest release.

There are absolutely no problems with a revision AD in an early car, and no battery drain problems at all.

I have replaced not only mine, but 2 or 3 others for Briskoda members now, and none have shown any problems with installation or use after being fitted..

The head units originally came in 1Z0 (octavia) or 3T0 (superb) variants. Once again, many people on here are running 3T0 units in their Octavias (me included). And anyway, once you upgrade the firmware, a 1Z0 is seen by VCDS as a 3T0 unit anyway. In other words, a later firmware upgrade will change your Octavia unit into a Superb one. So once again, no worries at all.

A 3T0 head unit and a revision AD gateway will work perfectly in your Octavia.

Hope this helps

Mike

First of all, thanks for your help

Just to dissipate some doubts, as i have MFSW and full maxidot, will they work with the 3T head unit?

thanks in advance
