Firmware upgrade and Skoda dealer

Featured Replies

I have a Superb '59 Elegance 4x4 and am massively reliant on the Sat Nav for work

I have read a number of posts about upgrading the maps so bought the V7 maps and uploaded it.

This seems fine but like many I am not getting the full functionality especially the 7 digit post code entry.

I don't know what firmware I have as I can't find out how to get this info and the "secret menu" appears not to be on.

I am a novice when it comes to messing with cars and after reading that there are a wide range of problems upgrading the firware and through fear of the whole system going caput! I wondered if there was any firmware upgrade offered by the dealer or if there are local companies that will offer installtion of this?

Very cowardly I know :S but I can't afford to mess it up. I am in the Wellingborough area.

Any advice appreciated

UPDATE 27/2/2011 - Found a smashing chap on the forum who offered his help and between us we have successfully upgraded firmware and maps. Thanks :D

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy, I am in the same position as you: I have an 09 Elegance and want to upgrade the maps and firmware.

Can you tell me where you purchased the new V7 maps and how did you get the firm ware upgraded.

My dealer has the new firmware for £150+ vat, which seems a lot to me but I may have to go that route. I am not confident enough to risk this change un-aided.
