Vrs Wheels - How Wide

Featured Replies

Hello

As above really are they 6.5" wide or 7" wide? Need some new tyres soon and am thinking of moving upto 215 width

Cheers

Phill

they are 7 iirc

You should be able to get tyres at that width for your 16" rims. I've got 15" rims and have 205/50s fitted.

they are 7J x 17. Go for 225/45, less speedo error than 215

Im still running standard wheels mate which are 16s. Glad they are 7" tho

Ah, it's a little one (makes note to read forum title  ) go for the 215s.

Fabia vRS comes with 16" rims. The Octavia is the one that has 17".

lol :D

Are they really 7"s???? That explains why the 205 Michelins look "rounded" and not very wide....would 225s fit under the arches without modification?

good luck on snow with 225's on lol

Was looking at 215/40 a few months ago. Not many people had that size instock.

Actually no, found out while checking out the Irish spec car that the wheels are 6.5" wide

GAH!

Ah, well. The Michelins still look nasty, rounded and not very wide :D

So, has anyone managed to fit 225s on? They're more common than 215s, but you'd have to go down to 35% sidewall, I think...

I'd give 225s a miss on 6.5 rims mate, especially with a 35 profile - there are several yoko's and bridgestone tyres at 215/45/16 which is what im going for next time, only a tiny increase in the sidewall profile. Check out mytyres.net

I noticed when I put my Pirellis on that they looked wider than the Michelins. Didnt really know why at the time.

205s SHOULD be pretty fat looking, but the standard Michelin's are only good for longevity...I've always liked Pirellis, though. Loved my P6000s on my old Punto. Would like to try out P Zeros next time...
