Octavia steel wheels 15"

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,#

Probably been done to death, but.......which 15" steel wheels go straight onto an Octavia......Ebay's littered with 15" VW wheels but all seem to be different from Octavia........e.g. do VW Transporter wheels fit etc?

Thanks for your time,

Depends which Octavia you have. I'm assuming a Mk1, so the PCD needs to be 5x100 ... which means 5 holes equal angles/distances apart centred on an imaginery 100 mmm circle. The centre hole should be 57.1 mm but I think that's fairly common for VAG cars over the last decade and a half -- perhaps someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Next, if it is a vRS with 312 mm front discs, then 15" wheels don't fit over the calipers. Similarly if your brakes have been upgraded to this size.

Finally, the standard Skoda sizes for 15" wheels, (taken from a Skoda wheels brochure), are either 6" or 6.5" wide, in which case the offsets (ET) should be 38 and 43 respectively.

So look for 6Jx15, PCD 5x100, ET38 ...

I think the correct tyre size for all Octavias will be 195/65R15. Although this tyre size can fit on rims from 5.5" to 7" wide, the optimum (and hence recommended) width is 6". If you want the wider wheels, the Skoda recommended tyre size is 205/60R15, (although even then the optimum wheel width is 6").

Just a thought - if your car has small enough front discs, you could also consider 14" wheels, (6" wide), in which case the tyres should be 175/80R14. All other characteristics should be the same as for 15" wheels.
