Non-Greenline 1.9Tdi- 790 miles from a tank!

Featured Replies

Driving with restraint, anticipation and drafting HGV's on the motorway (following the two second rule), I've managed to break my previous range best of 767 miles, by some 23 miles.

On a full to empty to full basis, this equates to 59.90 mpg. Whilst this is nothing special when compared against a Greenline (I or II), I'd be interested to know how this compares against other 1.9Tdi's.

For interest, the car was expertly remapped by PerformanceTorque at 3,000 miles and is currently shod with Michelin Primacy on the front axle and Goodyear Efficient Grip on the rear axle. Surprisingly, the car was factory supplied with Michelin Energy tyres which impressed me greatly.

I have driven the car from new which is currently 25 months old and has covered 72,300 miles.

I use cruise most of the time, bu disengage when climbing moderate hills.

Roll on early 2013, when my Superb is replaced. I'm looking forward to the prospect of a more economical 1.6Tdi and lower company car BIK taxation than my existing Superb.
