Car running a little warm?

Featured Replies

For the first time ever, my temperature needle crept above the vertical position and held steady at about the 1 o'clock position... Just got me wondering what checks I can perform before starting to go down the sensor route. Any levels I should check, leaky radiator? I have to admit it warmed up a little quicker than normal too, but I didn't think anything of it until I noticed it holding a higher temp too.

Any help, please? :(

Is it loosing any water?

Is it loosing any water?

Well, that sounds like #1 area to check. This is where the numptiness comes in because the water is something I have never checked, and its a part of the engine I've never geographically oriented myself with yet either... :o

I assume its something to do with the radiator?

Check the coolant level. If it's too low then top it up, if it goes down after a day or so, then it's losing water.

coolant is the purpley stuff right, in the round shaped reservoir.

If it is that I remember taking it apart when breaking my wreck. :D

Yes Jason, should be at the waist mark at the middle.

Cheers Ross, it was OK and there were no leaks. I think it was just an electrical glitch, as I noticed the fuel level seemed to be over-reading by the same variance. Has all settled this morning though.
