Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi Estate

Featured Replies

Can't believe the deal i've done to own this car.

A couple of weeks ago, a friend offered me a 1989 Toyota Corolla 1.3 Auto, for a reasonable price, so i bought it, hoping i could make a little profit out of it. I couldn't get any interest in a sale, then a friend called to see me yesterday and asked me if i knew anyone who had a cheap automatic car for sale. I showed him the Toyota, and he took it for a test drive. When he returned he asked me if i would be interested in doing a deal with his car. I asked him what sort of deal he was thinking, and he said a straight swap. I snapped his hand off. (Not literally)

It's a 1999 Octavia 1.9TDi Estate, with 209,000 miles on the clock. It came with Tax until end of June, but the MoT has just ran out. It has a couple of niggly problems, but seems to drive ok, and doesn't look like it will take much for an MoT.

Once MoT'd, this will be my daily driver.

Not a bad car for what i paid for the Toyota. (£200)

looks like you got yourself a bargain, ive recently aquired a 1.9 glx tdi in red from a family member, wants a couple of bits doing but i cant complain as it was free, il do a solid flywheel & clutch conversion as its gone, & it needs a new screen & maybe some minor bits, keep us posted with the progress, lee

quite a good deal you got, basicly octavia's are bullet proof for mots useual niggles are ball joints and trackrod ends.

Bargain! Being a Diesel it should go on for a bit yet too!

Not bad for £200

Bargain mate!

209k, Meh, It's only just run in.

Thought it was about time i did an update on this. Since Mot'ing the car i have done about 4000 miles, holed the sump twice, repaired once, and then had to fit a new 1 as the hole was just too big. I have also fitted a leather interior i found FREE on here, and had also fitted 15" Audi A3 wheels, which have now been replaced with the wheels you see here, 7.5x17" Smiths Shadow wheels with 225/45/17 tyres.

Nice.... free leather is always a bonus!

Is that a standard pre-facelift bumper at the front?

It sure is a totally standard pre-facelift bumper. Would love to find a vRS front bumper for it, but the prices are ridiculous. :'(

Not sure if a vRS bumper will fit a pre-facelift car properly, due to the headlights and rad grill being slightly different.

I like the black strip along the bottom of your bumper.
