hil folks, if I remove the pipe which is attached to the top of EGR valve, what should happen? On my Octy TDI, there is a very slight suction on tickover and the car runs exactly the same as if it were attached. Also, i have seen a post on here which says that you can check if your turbo actuator works by disconnecting/reconnecting the pipe from the N75 valve (actuator should drop/lift when engine is running). Is this right and, if yes, how can you see this because (unless i'm lost again) this is hidden well below the manifold?

If the car is plugged into diagnostics, you will see a drop in MAF (airflow) when EGR is active. A 10 per cent drop equates to 10 per cent EGR. SImples ;-) And the engine sound should quieten down a bit too
