hi davyc.the rear wheel bearing is a complete assembly with a hub flange..not like the old ones where you can pack and grease, comes straight of in 1 whole piece, and then new 1 straight on,so easy to do,expensive tho mine cost £107 genuine skoda part from ebay, here is a link to the ebay shop i got mine from,,good luck skodaman3.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/04-08-SKODA-OCTAVIA-A5-REAR-WHEEL-BEARING-1T0598611B-/320642948630?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa7cf1e16

excellent have purchased and will give it all a try, here's hoping no issues, have a mate with the correct tool so of to give it a try when the part arrives.

hi skodaman3 one more question for you....did you use an extractor or pulling mechanism to pull of the bearing/hub assembly or did you just pull or "persuade it off" ?? sorry to pester just want to make sure i do it the right way. Have the torx bits....oops just re read your post from before..just a quick tap to get off!!

hi davy..sorry for the delay,(just finished work..yeh thats right once you get the disc of you will find it attached to the back of the disc, and just a gentle tap will separate it,then reverse assemble, the only difficult part really was, getting the brake caliper off,M14 torx for the 2 bolts at the back, but a bit awkward space wise getting at them, i used a T bar socket handle thing and the lump hammer to persuade it but wasnt much space to hit it,i suppose if i jacked it up higher it would of been even easier, but only had the crappy car jack, never the less still pretty easy tho..good luck let me know how you got on,peter.
