Just fitted my Forge FMIC

Featured Replies

I needed to trim the top pipe quite a bit to stop it kinking when it goes through the crash bar, i must of taken at least 1 inch of each sides.

Anybody else had to do this? It just wouldnt fit as it was, the pipe was nearly bent in half and i would of never got the bumper back on :giggle:

Also sounds differamt now, a deeper noise just before it come on boost, is this normal?

Thanks

Ryan

Not that hard to fit, the hardest part is prabably getting that top pipe to fit properly, i still couldnt get it perfect but didnt want to cut any more off.

I think it took about 3.5-4 hours, but if the pipe had fit without any cutting it would probably have taken around about 2 hours.

I have cut 3cm off that hose which goes to TB, the angle was not good and hose was bend too much. I didnt want to cut the crash bar, so I ordered modified from forge. Took me about one hour to fit every together.

As mentioned very easy to fit Forge provide full fitting instructions, everything goes together well. Also trimmed back the pipe that goes to the throttle asm but that was it. Took me longer to clean / tidy up all the other parts as i was fitting the FMIC

I also did a diy install guide

The advantage is found when you are upgrading the power of your car / remap etc as the std side mount(SMIC) is not up to keeping the charge temps down. That is essential to allow good constant high boost pressure to the turbo. Without this you will get turbo lag as the heat soak effects the charge temps and thus effects performance.

Front lip is from a Seat Leon Cupra R. A common mod on these cars now.
