Black Streaks from window seals

Featured Replies

I've tried searching for this on the forums to see if anyone else has had this problem, but can't find anything so apologies in advance if this subject has been covered before.

Does any one else suffer with this and more importantly does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this happening?

I have a white '60' plate Octy, I try to wash it every weekend and all the while it stays dry the car looks fantastic, until it rains!

Two or three black sooty streaks/runs appear from each of the four window seals and run down to colour coded trim on the door. When they dry out you can easily wipe them off again, but until you do it just looks awful.

Is there something I am missing during cleaning or some product I should use to seal the rubber seals to stop the running when wet?

thats very interesting

i have the same problem with my white 60 plate octy.

only the back windows on mine though.

curious to see if anyone has an answer.

It does it for a few washes and then goes.

I use Autoglym's Vinyl and Rubber care on mine, no more streaks.
