good garage in cardiff

Featured Replies

alright guys. im quite new to cardiff and need my cambelt doing and not sure where to go for a decent garage. heard a few bad things about white dove and am looking for a reasonably priced place to get it done. can anyone recommend a good vag garage to get it done? atm im looking at getting it done at NG motors in Splott..anyone know what they're like/prices etc..

dont go to wales VW spicialists mate,

I was reccomended them and for the first time I used them it was ok but that was only an MOT and brake fluid change. the last time I used them was to do a wheel bearing and replace the ball joints.

NEVER USE AGAIN.

The bearing stopped making the noise the old one did but aquired another drone.

They also put the Genuine Ball joints on the wrong sides and forced them into the hub assy and in turn broke them. only reason I found out was when I tried to sort the droning, thinking it was the CVs.

Whitedove are crap too and dont listen to you, Griffin mill are also crap, damaged my car when it was in with them.

TBH I dont trust any garages ne more, The only place Ill take it is a amte of Fatty5000s up in Caerphilly. they are pritty decent and do the job. only had the clutch and gearbox fitted by them but Ill be going back for things I dont do. Cam Belt+ water pump and press the bearings in. thats about it Id say.

Give Fatty a pm mate n he will give you the name and directions

I used to go to Ferris Bros in Cathays, they are on Gwennyth St. Always found them very good, never tried to get me to fix things unless it really needed doing.

Don't let the picture of Andrew Ferris grinning like a loon on the website put you off.
