I tow 1300Kg with my vRS TDi CR, my second one actually.

The current one (Sept 2010) was happy to tow in 6th gear right from the start, previous one (also a CR - March 09) took about 10000 on the clock before 6th was of much use.

Power and traction have never been an issue. Nor has stability.

MPG towing depends. Normally just on 30mpg, however last Sunday towing back from Edinburgh CC site from cold against a stiff headwind it peaked at 27mpg. The old one got down as low as 23mpg towing fast against a headwind, but that was an exception.

Can highly recommend the vRS TDi ... if only it were a bit heavier to increase the choice of 'vans open to us.
