Fluffy interior trim

Featured Replies

Just hoovered the car this morning, and I can't seem to get all of the bits of straw, fluff, chaff etc. etc. out of the strange kind of fluffy black fabric that the interior of the car is trimmed with. There's nothing wrong with the hoover's suction because any gravel, grit or dirt comes out fine. It's just that the bits of really light weight stuff seem to weave themselves into the fabric and won't come out unless picked out piece by piece. Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to get them out?

Brush attachment on the hoover will get a lot of it out but then you're back at fingernails. I live near pine trees so I know your pain.

Have you tried sticky tape... the brown broad stuff that is used for parcels works quick well, I dab on the offending lint and roll the then woolly tape into a ball as I go...

Replace it with bespoke leather - seats, head/ armrests & door cards

That's what I did, the weave of the fabric they use (F/L Elegance) seems to be a magnet to hairs, lint etc and it gets interwoven into the fabric fibres and is a devil to shift. I resorted to sticky rollers, sellotape etc., now its just a quick & easy wipe down.

Also the the leather gives the cabin a real lift plus the great aroma.

Thanks guys. I'll try the sticky tape. Can't afford to re-trim in leather, but could in sticky tape :giggle:

Heard these do a great job.

Put them on and wipe the fabric in one direction

use a carpet brush and agitate the carpet with it while your hoovering, just a cheap one from wilkos or something like that.
