Headlight bolts?

Featured Replies

Hi all after a bit of help in regards to the headlights.

When i had the octy it had no headlights (damaged, long story) and wondering if anyone has the ETKA diagram of them as have them all fitted but there is a bit of movement with each light and there looks like a sort of bracket at the bottom that possibly a nut and bolt goes through below the adjustment plate to hold the light more securely.

Any help appreciated and a diagram would clear it all up :)

Not unusual for the plates that hold the light unit in place to get damaged. Especially on the one you bought :)

Someone will come along with an ETKA diagram to display it more clearly, but it's a platform that the unit sits on, and where the clips are located, which retract when you pull the hook away from the unit, as shown on the Octavia vRS guide linked above.

Does that make sense? :)

Cheers,

Steve

Ah, it's the Euro change article that's been posted, just spotted that. I was meaning the bulb change one:

It maybe that on yours the plate needs replacing?

Cheers for the quick replies lads. Its not the black plate u can see in the pic above, its below that i need to see. Off the chassis there is a piece of body coloured plate that has been factory bent into a square cylinder (whatever thats called lol) and the black braket rests on it. Can just about it see it from this picture where its just above the washer fluid bottle (to the left of the flex neck)and looks like it overlaps on the tyre slightly (passenger side one is bent in this pic).

Right, with you now! We need ETKA :)

Yep, liking the setup - Mad Max styleee :D

Yes wardy I posted that one because it shows the lever and bolt, but I think the op has progressed a bit from that :giggle:

Are you breaking that???

Fair play can always rely on you lot to get involved and try and sort issues. You guys are the best :) lol

Glad i found the top pic as hard to explain without one. Im not sure if it just supports the bracket or if it is infact bolted to it.

Yea the mad max look was fun while it lasted but hitting a bee at 70mph with no screen is no laughing matter :) and the coppers just dont get the styling of today, plus driving at night was plain dangerous haha.

The drivers side front tyre is the wrong way round, that could have been the cause in the first placeemoticon-0144-nod.gif

At the time the photo was taken, I feel that was a fairly small issue in the scheme of things :D

Hi, can't see a great lot on either ETKA or ELSA, but here is what I have found. Hope it helps.

Mike

Lovely thank you mike for digging them out. Yea doesn't seem to show or even mention that bracket so doesn't seem to be a bolt through it so must bracket must just rest on it

Lol yea couldn't be more right!

In regards to the tyre when I got the car it had 4 brand new Dunlop sport tyres on it (still had the White fitting paste on them) but 3 had been punctured in the bump and all on the sidewalk which was so annoying but in the bin they had to go. The tyre on the wrong way (and hell of a spot by the way) is an Audi wheel about the garage so the car was moveable. I keep forgetting to take some photos to update my build thread but will get it sorted over the weekend
