Squeaky drivers seat

Featured Replies

Is this a common problem, my seat squeaks like an old gate hinge when my lardy arse is sat in it, wouldnt mind if it only did it as I was getting in or out, but it squeaks with the movement of the car, and is driving me saft. Did 500miles yesterday in it, with the stereo volume turned up to try and drown it out.

Was my first proper outing in it yesterday, comfortable as ya like, so quiet even at 70/80mph (apart from the stupid squeak!) did 500miles, averaging 50mpg, and still over a 1/4 of a tank left, happy days!!

Haza,

Could be the seat belt holder down by the seat. I noticed this on a Superb I test drove. If it is, a small bit of foam taped to it should fix it.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Robbie

Solved this a couple of weeks back, but thought it was worth updating, may be someone has the same issue as me in a future. It was to do with the height adjustment, and where it pivots on the frame/base, a liberal squirting of WD40 and not a squeak since (apart from the drivers dash, but time ain't allowing me to remove the dash to solve that issue yet!).

my seat rocks when you brake reasonably hard, anyone know how to fix this? (other than brake softer, obviously!!)

cheers
