My vRS Progress Thread

Featured Replies

Hi, well i've read through a few peoples progress threads and decided that I would stick up some pictures of mine. I've had it about 18 months now and was just a standard Black Magic vRS when I bought it. I'm saving up money for a house so didnt want to throw loads of money at the car, but at the same time I wanted to do a few things too it.

Its an 05 Plate and had 39k on it when I got it

The first two pictures are just after I got it

The first Mod was a Ibiza Front Strut Brace

Next up was a Leon Splitter, I really like the way that these change the look of the front of the car

I used to have a Fabia Sport a few years ago and that had tinted rear windows and I liked the way they looked, so I decided that I would get them done on the vRS and I also got some Mlada Boleslav number plate holders courtesy of Fatty5000!

I also installed a Connects2 iPod connecter inside and painted the air vent surrounds in a glossy piano black paint and put some Ibiza Cupra front bushes in. The handling feels much better now than it did when i bought it.

It was like this for a while but I always wanted to change the alloy wheels. I really fancied some Octavia Spider's but really only wanted to keep with 16" wheels as all of the roads in Cumbria are full of potholes and craters so didnt much fancy 17" wheels with low profile tyres on. Then one night when I was on eBay I saw some other Skoda Wheels which I decided too bid on. I won them and after a trip over too Bedlington, I left with some Skoda Poli Alloys. I really like them as they are a nice simple 5 spoke design.

So thats how she is right now. Now has 58k on and hasnt missed a beat so far. Maybe a few things left too do, might lower it on some Eibach's at some point and get a one of the new Polo shorter ariels too.

Thanks for looking and any comments welcome!

Matt

Nice, different looking with the Poli 5 spokes! :)

Good job mate

Car looks in great condition and the mods are coming along nicely.

Not so sure on the change of alloys though.... :wonder:

Looking to get one of these in Black for SWMBO....sometime this year.

Cheers,

Ste.

cheers mate, yeah i thought they looked a bit diff too, havent seen another vRS with them on yet either

I do like the wheels - think they would lot a bit more suited lowered though. Good to see a different choice to normal all the same though.

The angle your rear wiper is at would drive me mad too! :D

Lol it does need a push down sometimes, dunno why its gone like that tbh!

Easy enough to fix though - just pop the cap off, and losen the nut, realgin and job done. My sisters Corsa is the same, only it scrapes the metal of the bootlid, rather than pointing up - horrid horrid little cars!

Hi

These mods look great ...

I have just bought my Skoda Fabia VRS and pick it up on Friday (very excited)..

Are you able to answer few queries below;

1) Do you have part numbers for the strut brace and seat leon splitter?

2) When installing the connects 2, where did you route your ipod cable too and is this easy to install without drilling holes, removing parts of the dash?

3) Also, where do you store the connects 2 box?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Many thanks

Ryan

Seat Sport MOMO Strut Brace: 6L0 071 710 (Seat Dealer)

Leon front splitter: 1ML 805 903 (Seat Dealer)

Hi, Cheers for the comments, someone beat me to the part numbers lol. The iPod cable comes out below the radio into the little cubby hole. The box is also packed in behind the radio too.

nice motor looks different with the alloys

Thanks! I really like the wheels, think they suit the car well

Thats great .. thanks for information :)

Looks much nicer now it's lowered.

I like it somehow lowering it has made the wheels look even better, looking at getting my windows tinted, well done mate looking good. Any other plans?

Yeah i know what you mean about the wheels, they do look a bit bigger. I'm not sure about anything else to be honest. This was always what i wanted it to look like in the end. I did always fancy some Octavia Spider Alloys but they do seem everywhere and now its lowered i kinda like the wheels thats on it more now. I will kinda tinker with it some more im sure, any suggestions?

You going to do any performance mods?

You going to do any performance mods?

not sure really, always tempted to send it to Shark to get remapped, keep hearing about rear anti roll bars and how good they are.

Believe the hype

Can't comment on the Jabba bar but the Whiteline is good enough for me.

Have heard of Jabba bars hitting the exhaust on very low cars.

I was looking at Gareth_1.8T's car a while back while it was in the air on a ramp

he likes it low and complained about this problem with his car. :wonder:

Rear anti roll bar makes so much difference. Best mod ive done to my car ( bar the remap :p )
