Cards can't screech, if anything I would say the HDD in the unit is about to die.

Wot you listening to???

sorry have columbus & also use a 4 GB SDHC card... no issues, just stays there all the time. Sorry.

Not sure if a HDD would no that but if it sounds like a moving part & assuming its not the fan belt then HDD could be an issue.... can't remmember hearing this ever being mentioned before but only been looking /posting 6 months.

I'd still say your Bolero or Columbus is trying to tell you something about your music.... hehehe... sorry ;)

Ha ha Steph I have a Columbus it's defo the Sd card through the speakers I was goin to work last night with 2 work mates in de car they nearly bricked their pants lol it never happens wen using HDD or radio or cd always on Sd. Weird must buy a new Sd card and see

We've not tried usung the HDD yet.... (other than Satnav I guess).

our SD card works great, now that al the ITunes files are MP3's.

Sorry I can't help otherwise, I'm not a techy. Odd though, no moving parts on an SD card... unless it was somehow recorded? Tried re-loading files?, then new SD card, then dealer...

Regards

Stef

Does the "screech" occur when you eject the card as well?

Don't think so Ray only noticed it after been playing the Sd when I think of turning the unit off before the ignition it never happens

Only other thing is a lower bitrate, if you are ripped to 256 and above rip lower like 192.

Remove the card and format it on your PC (selecting the FAT32 option), then copy the music back, see if it does it then.

Cheers lads il try that

Before you re-format plug it into your computer and play the music on that and see what happens. No noise makes it a problem in the car, noise makes it a file, recording or card issue.

I formated and no screeching so far After 3 days hopfully it's sorted or new card
