I can't decide what to do with my car. :(

I'm sick of having spacers so I want some new wheels that don't require them. I love how the Spiders look but they're just too heavy, too common, too narrow and the offset sucks.

I've looked and looked but I keep coming back to 17" 8J MO6's (MO1771 or MO1782). Opinions? I spoke to Compomotive at Ultimate Dubs and they said I could drive up to their head office and they can try several different offset wheels on my car to see what fits perfectly. They would be setup to clear my brakes and sit perfectly without the use of spacers. I'd go as far out as I could without rubbing, possibly stretching a 205 tyre over the 8J wheel.

I'm not sure if I'd be able to put up with white wheels though so I was thinking about getting them done in the same colour of my spiders or just gloss/matt black. Again, thoughts? I can't help but think it's rude to do Comp's in any other colour than white though and white Comp's on a black car is porn.

Here's some current photos of my car I took today:

Now I've also booked it into the bodyshop for the 6th of May to have some work done. I'm having the aerial recess in the spoiler smoothed and resprayed as I use a stubby aerial which is no where near to touching. It's having a complete front end respray (bumper, wings, bonnet, mirrors, grill surround, fog light surrounds) along with new badges, a new splitter, new fog lights and new Depo headlights (both wrapped in subtle tint Lamin-X to hopefully prevent smashing them again) to completely freshen up the front. It's having 2 dents removed (I really need to stop leaving it in public car-parks) and the door strips removed too. Both side skirts are being resprayed along with a few touch-ups here and there. After I get it back I'm gunna be a bit more careful with it, I've not looked after the paint much and can't resist chasing cars being sprayed by stones but I'm gunna try really hard to keep my distance to keep the front end in a decent condition as right now it's absolutely covered in stone chips.

The other idea I've been toying with is the smooth front bumper look but I keep changing my mind. Sometimes I like it and then other times I absolutely hate it, I think it's a 'marmite mod' and I really need suggestions. I know it's my car and my decision 'n all but I'm struggling to decide, I don't think I care whether it's done or left standard to be honest, I like both equally but just fancy doing something to the exterior of my car, I can't help but think it looks quite standard (which I suppose is a good thing to some people, subtle mods 'n all that). For example, most people who don't know Fabia's have a quick scan around the car and think the only mods is the wheel colour and that it's been lowered...

If you had my car what exterior changes would you make to it in a hypothetical situation? I really need ideas/thoughts/inspiration. I'm not into the whole BBS 'dub' look really, I like it but it's not for me: I prefer the track look. The car does get used and abused so I'm all for lightweight wheels.

PS. Please vote on the polls to help me decide. :)

Hmm!! being all the same colour (BLACK) makes it look bland and hmm!! BORING.

Need some other colour injection, maybe white/silver/orange/green wheels, glass tint & grill orange/green.

Car would pass for small funeral car, no malice meant, just a suggestion as asked.

Good luck.

See I see it all black as stealthy, exactly what the fabia vrs is perfect for IMO. Looks great in the pictures. However, lighter wheels are always good, it's just finding some that arnt too ugly too lol.

Matt

luke

strip it as much as possible, plastic windows, mental rollcage etc etc, maybe intercooler hanging out the front. and a nice set of compomotives.

PERFECT

jake.

I can't help but think it looks quite standard (which I suppose is a good thing to some people, subtle mods 'n all that). For example, most people who don't know Fabia's have a quick scan around the car and think the only mods is the wheel colour and that it's been lowered...

Thats exactly the reason mine is kept looking standard !

Total stealth :D

Depends how much you want to shout about having a modded car really, i think you've got it looking great, so if that were mine, i'd not change a thing :)

i would say do no more to the car unless really necessary...that money must be burning a while hole in your pocket lol imo for what you've spent on this car plus purchase could have bought a real good spec subaru, evo, type r, etc insured it and still plenty of money to run. leave all the way it is althouh the MO6 anthracite i think would look real nice

don't get me wrong its a really nice car all the same and you've put a lot of work into it

Can a few more people vote please? :smirk:

Exactly what matt says I like the wolf in sheeps clothing approach when people get wasted by a skoda the look on there face the which is what I really like,

Voted. You need a bright set of wheels, never liked dark wheels on a dark car.

Car looks pretty good though.
