Rear Washer - Should it leak from the inside?

Featured Replies

Hi folks

Second question in two days. I've read the various guides on the rear washer jet not working, found it disconected in the engine bay and popped it back together. However water was running out of the boot tail under the trim so I assumed it had also popped off there. Pulled all the trim away to find it is connected to the rear washer however when I push the wiper stalk back for the rear, water ****es out the back. The thing is it works fine, a good stream of water now flows out of the rear washer jet onto the windscreen but a good load comes out the back too! Now the connector fits snug and doesn't appear to leak from that point.

I'm wondering if that is normal operation and some water will just drain through the boot and the drain holes or should no water flow backwards. Thought maybe the sprayer is blocked, wiggled a pin in there all seems OK. So is this normal or do I need to investigate further?

Thanks to all
