I was about to finish installing my new speakers in my car, fronts went in no problems (touch wood), but when it came to fitting my 5.25" speakers in the rear I couldn't get the damn adapter off the OEM speakers.

Does anyone know how to split the rear speakers from their adapters, there doesn't seem an easy way...and even then I see no way of bolting the new speakers to the adapter.

Alternatively, can anyone point me in the right direction to get an adapter to fit my new 5.25" speakers?

Son of a bit.. the rear speakers are 5.5" which is a massively awkward ass size seeing as my speakers are 5.25"! Why can't these damn car manufacturers stick to simple sizes! :(
