Inner plastic panel on rear hatch

Featured Replies

While I was sorting out my rear hatch lock last night I noticed the rear plastic has a metally rattle from inside it.

So, I poppped off the plastic in the rear hatch to find that there were 3 bent and twisted metal clips all in the corner of it. They'd obviously been bent trying to get the panel on and popped out of the holders.

So on further inspection another 2 or 3 were bent also.

So I took it off completely after fiddling with it for a bit.

When I get new clips I'll put it back on.

Is there a knack to putting this rear panel in???? - because when I held it up to see where the holes were, a few of the clips didn't seem to be anywhere near where they clip in. So it's obvious how the clips got bent.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Not had that panel off yet but they usually have a good lattitiude of movement, when replacing make sure you lubricate them with some grease, I used to use Vaseline it does not make so much mess if it runs.

Why would I need to lube them? They're just push in metal clips.
