I bought Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi 2009 three months ago from 4-weeks I got problem with air-con yesterday I was to check in the salon Skoda what happend with air-con the man said me that air-con is full and dosen't need to charge it and there isn't any fault all is ok

I was back to my home it was about 11:00 am, about 5pm I got to my friends when I was driving it turned the air conditioner blows warm air through my 5 miles :'( :'(

I think that I must back to the salon Skoda to check again

Any idea please write to me

HI I have a 2006 tdi and have a similar problem, my trip to and from work is 7 miles and the the air con only just gets cold at the end of the trip after approx 10 minutes. I beleive other posts have said that the air con in the Octavia is a little under powered, by comparison the Honda i also own blows cold immedeately. The problem seems to be the vast amount of space inside the car that gets heated, the blower struggles to cool this space. what I do is to open all the windows to let all the heat out first then drive with the aircon on lo and auto, assuming that you have Climate Control. Air con works differently from car to car and unfortunately the Octy is a little bad at cooling but this is a small price to pay for what is essentially a brilliant car.

My Octavia gives ice cold air within about 3 seconds of switching on and cools the car very quickley. Previous Focus was far worse, the Octavia, by comparison, is like ice station zebra !! Sounds to me like you you need a re-charge. I have found quite a big difference to A/C performance if the charge is on the lower limit compared to being at the upper limit - granted, this was on Ford cars.

my car has a manual air conditioning today, I checked the air filter was a little dirty if you replaced two months ago

next was a surprise if I set the dial to 1 it did not work if I switch the two was a little better but nothing special

My AC gives cold air almost immediately and it is 2009 pre-FL. Are you sure you have the AC on and not just the temperature dial set to cold, sorry it sounds obvious - but then again the English isn't great so I have struggled to quite understand, sorry Alex.

I have not come across so new a car needing a recharge and the Skoda dealer said the system was fine and working - so it certainly should not be that.

I have button AC

I had Skoda Octavia I 1998 year and similar AC- manual and I hadn't any trouble with AC
