Manual set up of aol dial up

Featured Replies

As a feature of my 2MB broadban i've been give unlimited dial up as well. I have opted to use this on my folks machine so they get free internet (aren't I nice :) )I have installed the crappy browser so I can get access (which it does) but I want to be able to use firefox.

Heres my problem:

If I try to create a manual connection vial the dial up wizard (windows 98), it does not authenticate on the password. I am confused as I am using the correct log in etc and the correct numbers. AOL live help are useless :finger: to them.

So has anyone any ideas????

cheers is advance

You have to use the AOL client - it's due to the way it sets up various things...I won't got into detail, it's not that interesting... ;)

That said...if you connect using the AOL client, you can then minimise that and use Firefox/Internet Explorer as per normal.
