superb 2.0 tdi

Featured Replies

i have a 2006 superb 2.0 tdi/140, the glow plug light keeps coming on and off when it feels like it. when it comes on it also displays engine workshop.

there is no detremental effect to the engine's running, fuel consumption and on checking for fault codes, there are none.

any suggestions please

The light doubles as an engine management light, so it is indicating a fault within the engine management system. You will need to get it read for any codes that have been stored as the light can come on for any of a few thousand reasons.

I've come across this before where a car has had an intermittent fault and the owner says that they have taken it to a garage and there are no codes stored, but more often than not, there are cods there to be read. It might depend on what is being used to read the codes. Sometimes there may be codes stored in other control units apart from the engine that will help to solve the problem.

mine started doing this at around 75000 miles. it was because the dpf fluid needed refilling. cost £307 at a skoda dealer.

Diesel economy?

rotodiesel.

I test drove one about 4 years ago, 6k on the clock and emissions warning on the dash, the fact it drive ok still says to me it's probably a sensor or maybe the egr valve or pipes doing it, check all the hoses for splits this chucks the light on.
