Possible VCDS (Vagcom) GB?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am looking to see if anybody knows of any GB going on for VCDS or if there is enough interest possibly doing one of our own??

This was tried about a year ago across many of the VAG forums - with very little interest, partially due to the saving being hardly worth the lengthy wait to get enough numbers.

Cost is roughly £260 from where mine originated www.ilexa.co.uk and not sure if any GB is really going to save much.

Any update?

I was just thinking the same - contact a few suppliers and see if they would be willing to offer any kind of discount for "bulk orders" but won't if you've already tried and failed.

I'd be interested if a group buy can be arranged

I might be interested too.... if the price is right!

As has already been said. I got quotes to do this a coupld of years ago when it was much better £-$ exchange rates but the savings were at best around £20 after postage out to everyone in the UK when bulk ordered from ross-tech direct. It just wasnt worth the wait. And despite everyone saying they would be interested. When it cam to paying the money (and you wont get it for nothing. If its genuine it will be well over £200) most people backed out.

Good Luck. I hope you can get a good deal because its really usefull tool.

I've spoken to three suppliers.

Two have immediately said no.

The other has said groupbuys can be a bit of a nightmare and they don't like to get involved.

However they do sometimes issue discount codes to forums/clubs etc.

So I've given them the details of this place and I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Sorry for the lack of contact, I have been down south with work for the past week.

Stoofa, could you send me a PM with who you have been dealing with to save me bothering them again and I'll try and help to see with we can get a deal going.

Details are at work - I'll PM them over tomorrow.

Guys,

Unfortunately I have not been able to get a massive discount on VCDS - yer I know, we were all deep down hoping for a massive saving :)

gendan.co.uk have just recently reduced their pricing, not by much, but there is a saving.

On top of that Briskoda members can get another £5 off.

Details from Mike at gendan.co.uk:

To get the discount, forum members need to order one of the packages via our website:

- HEX-USB+CAN - http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHU.html

- Power Bundle / Power Bundle Plus - http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCHUB.html

When you get to the comments box at checkout, enter "Briskoda June 2011 £5 offer - [membername]" (replacing [membername] with your Briskoda username).

The initial credit card authorisation will go through for the full amount, but we will deduct the £5 when we actually take the money from the card.

We'll honour the discount for all orders placed by legitimate Briskoda members using the offer code until midnight on June 30th.

So that makes the basic VCDS £259.95 inc VAT and Delivery.

Or the Power Bundle at £301.34 inc VAT and Delivery.

I'm personally still tempted - I think the unit can eventually pay for itself over the lifetime you own it, so long as you have something "VAG" that needs working on.

Anyway - hope this helps some people.
