Fitting Sony MEX-BT3800U Help needed

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just bought the above stereo (Cheap @ halfrauds - £93.00 with web discount). I didn't buy a harness adaptor as i had heard you just swap over some wires on the stereo's wiring loom. I think it's pretty obvious which ones but I just wanted to check that all i have to do is swap the yellow and red ones SEE PICTURE (do they just pull apart?) and then i'm good to go?

Also, does anyone know which keys I need to remove the Symphony stereo? Would it be easiest to get them from a Skoda dealer along with the blanking plate thing to hide the gap above the new stereo?

Thanks!

I got the symphony out quite easiily in the end by prising some facia bits off and accessing the clips from the outside :cunning:

The stereo was pretty easy to fit (bar the tons of wires) and I can confirm that swapping the wires over was spot on!

Your post was well helpful in checking which connections were which!

The wires......great fun eh??? Glad the post helped! B)

And why is it the the OEM stereos are a :swear: to remove and the more valuable aftermarket ones are easy to remove?????
