Can somebody let me know where to find the DSG gearbox number please?

What do you mean by 'number'? Do you mean version or revision?

A VCDS diagnostic scan will provide some information. That would be the easiest way of gaining extra information, but I'm not exactly sure what you're wanting to know!

The gearbox code is 02E that's for the type, the actual gearbox code for that unit is on a flat part of the casing on the top near the cooler.

Its to identify which gearbox i have so i can buy the correct replacement.

Would it be something like the Audi or VW codes LQV or JPO?
