I said I wouldn't modify this car but.......

Well when I bought the car I told SWMBO I would not be modifying it, I guess the bug is hard to shake off.

Whilst going on a long motorway drive recently I noticed the heatsoak was very bad, it felt like a stage 1 map which worried me as it meant things were getting too hot. As soon as I came off the motorway things started to get better so I decided to look for an uprated intercooler.

The twintercooler would have been nice but they are expensive so I tried to source a secondhand S3 unit. I posted an ad on a breakers search site and got a reply. After a bit of bartering I got one for £100 which I thought was a bargain. I hope to fit next week using the original hoses with the metal ends cut off, the Yanks do this all the time and it seems to work great.
