Panic before I picked it up because a small delay meant that there was a chance that it wouldn't be ready until today, which would have delayed things until tomorrow as Friday 13 is not the best day to start a relationship with a new car. But Capitol Skoda in Newport pulled out the stops and there it was.

Paintwork treated with AutoGlym lifeshine that maintains the shine long term, makes it look wonderful. And you get a suitcase full of bits to keep it looking that way. Worth looking at.

Am I pleased with it? Yes, yes,yes. Its called a Superb but it's fantastic. Only managed 80 miles last night but the 4 months wait has been worth it.

For anybody out there waiting for theirs, you are in for a real treat when it arrives.

Only problem so far is that the handbook is not always 100% clear. Especially when it comes to setting up the phone. Half an hour with the handbook, a technical wizard (well he can programme my freeviw box to record) and me, resulted in ' It must be the phone, it's not compatible, have to change it!.

But a large Gin and the background noise of late night telly produced a flash of inspiration, 'Read the two manuals together' Ah! 2 mins in the cold light of day this morning and it's working.

re Phone; If your car is new, and UK spec, it should pair with (almost!) any bluetooth enabled mobile phone.

That should pair with the GSM system in the Superb. Does it say device not compatable? Try pairing the system from the phone so go into your paired devices and add new device from the phone.

Try turning the phone off and take out the battery. Wait 5 minutes, battery back in, switch phone back on and try again.
