wind noise

Featured Replies

I'm hoping the good people here can help me. I have a superb 19tdi classic which i have just aquired. The problem is above 40mph there is a terrible wind noise on the near side. It seems to be coming from the wiper/trim area. The faster i go the louder it gets. I have tried taping the trim to the winscreen which seems to have improved it very slightly. The battery cover is missing one of the locating lugs and was wondering if any-one has any idea if that could be causing it. If not any ideas? Den

Hi there

I can see that this is an old topic but i couldn't find any answers browsing trough the forum so I would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions to this problem (or if denedd found an answer to his problem :), as I'm getting more and more annoyed with this wind noise in my 11 plate superb (2.0 140cr).

Thanks

Luc

Common source of wind noise ( eg: annoying whistle the increases with speed) are the door seals

Mine has this on passenger side front door, you can check by getting somone to sit in the passenger seat and gently push the top of the door frame in about the middle, while the noise is happening

You can hear the noise changing as the door is moved

This is on my to do lists of repairs
