Number Plate Removal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im awaiting the docs from DVLA to put my private plate on the car but iv had a quick look and the plates on there are stuck really well. Think they used the sticky strips as there are no screws. Any easy way of taking them off without damaging the car/plates???

If you can just pull them off, fishing line behind the back of the plate should do it

As above, fishing line or strimmer 'cable' will do the job - use it in a sawing action keeping it away from the paintwork.

Credit cards etc can also be used but I have not tried them personally.

Or just stick the new plates over the old ones

Or hot soapy water on stickers then ease them off gently.

Mine were fine, until a lazy moment and I went through the car wash.......
