Cruise dashboard light

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if there should be a light on the dashboard to indicate the cruise control is active?

Mines factory fitted and I'm wondering if the lights not working or if it just doesn't have one. (I keep forgetting to turn it off as my last car had a light to remind me so now I'm just lazy :P )

Can't find any reference to it in the manual either??

Well I have factory fitted cruise...and no light.

I forget sometimes too and get taken by surprise when it takes off on it's own:eek:- only takes a fraction of a second to realise what's going on though.

no light :-(

No light here either

Oh well at least it's not just mine then - it's strange that it hasn't got a light though.

hmm.....wonder if one can be retrofitted or a spare light on the dash utilised...

cheers :)

It's a funny thing, but out of the cars I've had with cruise, the Skoda's didn't have a light, and nor did my Omega. My Modeo did, though, my Signum has, and my Galant had 2! (Cruise ready and cruise engaged).

I've never felt the need for one, though, as it cuts out when you brake, anyway.

No light with a K-fitted one either. I can't say it bothers me.

VW and Audi have cruise lights on the dash, but none for SEAT or Skoda.

There has to be some physical difference between the brands after all.

Uhm, my old man's Alhambra had a cruise light on the dash inside the speedo or rev counter (can't remember which ). Was the picture of a speedo with a little arrow pointing at a graduation.

I had factory fitted cruise on my S reg V5 Golf, that didn't have a light whe you activated it.

It's just on the new model VW's.

Any way of getting a feed to an LED or summit to indicate it's active? Surely there must be some signal that could allow this?

It could be there but not activated through the dash panel, various dash lights can enabled/disabled through the cars electrical system.
