The door handles push a switch not pull a rod so no need to pull so hard

should of took them of the old 98 mk4 golf there solid

When i first got my Fabia i thought the handles won't last long as they do feel weak and ready to break off at any time but they seem fine.

I've never heard someone having issues with the door handles - ie breaking them while using them or pulling them. They might seem and feel flimsy but I believe than can withstand some beating with no problems.

My handles on my Mk2 for some reason are not the flimsy feeling ones, although they are not metal. I know lots of friends that have the slightly bendy ones...but as has been said they don't break. They are not actually flimy, they just feel that way, but they are light and very strong. I changed one on a Mk2 recently for a friend who spilled nail varnish down her door internally and it damaged the handle. I tried to break it...I couldn't! Overall Skoda reckons they reduce internal door handle weight by 75% over the metal ones on the Mk1. It's weight savings like that, as part of an overall package which are important for performance and fuel saving. It all adds up.

Yeah...and then the really fat owner and his equally large misses get in and that screws the fuel/weight savings, emissions, etc, right up!!!!

Also where do the airbags explode out to when there is so much fat in the way??? How do the emergency services get them out if they crash????

I have seen a few small cars up here like this...with the owners "stomach/fat" level with the window and right up to the steering wheel!!!! Worst case was in a Smart for2!!!!
