Bluetooth Options - Confused

Featured Replies

Hi there, Looking for a bit of information / knowledge from the learned people on here. I have just ordered a VRS CR Diesel which I am due to collect in November. However as I went for the manual I cannot get the Bluetooth as a factory fit with the supplied VRS steering wheel. I am getting the normal Bolera radio and I have also gone for the MaxiDot display, but no MDI type thingy.

What are my options for bluetooth to work with the iPhone 4? I would prefer to have some form of OEM type affair but I would also like to have the ability to stream music from the iPhone to the stereo.

Not too fussed about steering wheel controls if it can all be done with the touchscreen, or is this beyond the Bolero ?

I have had a search, but I looked at that many things I managed to confuse myself, which to be fair is not that hard :(

Thanks in advance.

Colin

Fiscon do a unit that I believe integrates with the Bolero fairly well but it is not a cheap option. You can, I believe, also retrofit the OEM bluetooth and just not have the steering wheel control but again this is not a particularly cheap option. I instead went for a Bury 6090 instead. This has a little touch screen and voice activation/control. A great little unit that works very well out of the box with no need to teach it (just say the name and it finds it in your address book). It is also a lot cheaper than the other 2 options above (well under £200 fitted).

I am considering fitting a Parrot MKi9200 which should offer all I need and the ability to stream my music to the Bolero HU.

Ben at Shark Performance should be able to sort you out with an OE system that works with non RSAP phones.

I have it in my pre facelift and it is excellent.
