Sub frame rubbers

Featured Replies

Hi every one. Got some tyres put on my mk1 vrs on Friday. My m8 who did the job for me noticed movement of the wheels in the arches. Looked further into it to see the rubbers have gone on the bottom arms which isnt a proplem, but also noticed that the rubbers on the subframe where it conects to the floor pan are to say stuffed also. Can these bushes be replaced or is it a subframe replacement?

All the bushes can be replaced

Superpro polyurethane for the wishbone bushes! They'll last forever and will tighten the handling up!!

Can anyone advise whether you can get uprated subframe to chassis bushes??

Steve

yes you can steve,

the tt 225bhp spec ones are uprated but are not cheap (around 80ish) i got a secondhand tt 225 subframe (which had a brace fitted) and refurbed the rack as was cheaper than putting new bushes on my own subframe.

Plus i built it all up off the car then swapped the whole lot over.

As Oet said, fit the ones from an audi tt. They have a rubber coated solid metal core, unlike ours which are mainly rubber.
