Has anyone got advice on the easiest way to change track control arms (the front lower rear) on the mk1 superb. I read something about dropping the subframe to get the bolt out and then putting the bolt in the opposite way in case you need to change em again. I may be being stupid but could I cut the head off the bolt and remove it and then put new bolts in the opposite way rather than move the subframe?

Anyone got advice on where to buy decent replacements, I have found febi ones for £32 + vat roughly wondered if this was decent compared to others.

anyone got any pictures of changing them or a how too?

I did mine last year as the ball joints had died. It's easy enough to do, but the bolt is a little tricky to get out. I just slackened off the bolts holding the sub frame near each bolt and it gave enough slack to get the bolt out. I didn't think of switching the bolt around.

Remember to have the weight of the car on the arms before you torque the bolts up, or you will stress the bushes.

doesnt sound too bad then, where did you buy the arms from and what did you pay?

\i got them from Euro Car Parts in Stockton. I cant remember what I paid to be honest. Either £30 or £60 each seems to ring a bell.

There exist full suspension replacement kits incl all arms and bolts/nuts for Passats (B5 and B5.5) and for A4/A6, made by Febi, and they costs only as much as a set of front Bilsteins.

There are several part numbers for these kits, perhaps someone knows which one is right for the Superb?
