I know exactly what you are saying 'bluepassion'.

If you buy the correct fuel filter which is a short dumpy shape you will be paying in the region of £21.00

Look down inside metal fuel filter housing which holds the fuel filter, (with the filter removed), you will see a plastic insert.

You can either remove it altogether OR push it firmly to the bottom of metal filter housing, (I pushed mine to the bottom.)

The filter will now sit on-top the plastic insert with it's drain plug in place, and still clear bonnet when closed, with fuel pipes re-connected.

I do this every year and pay about £10-£11 for fuel filter.

The correct short filter is a BOSCH 0450906426 on E-Bay £21.00 or there abouts.

Good luck.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
