insurance companys for lowered pick ups?

Featured Replies

Its renewal time. I was wondering which insurance companies people use? (Modified pick up owners mainly) I'm with Adrian flux at the mo and renewal is £275 tpft. (£259 last year) I'm 35, a teacher, homeowner (in rural Norfolk). My truck is standard except for alloy wheels and lowered suspension. Has anyone any companies they would recommend? Am I paying about the right amount etc? There doesnt seem to be many insurers who will touch modified commercial vehicles. O r am I looking in the wrong place?

there doesn't seem to be many insurers that will touch a skoda pickup full stop!! i'd stick where you are to be honest, it's a very good price as well

iam with adrin flux aswell,£235 last year,48 with no points,no ncd, south bucks....you could try haggling with them ,iam sure they wont want you to go else whare

your not using the vehicle as commercial use are you?,if not then just insure it as a private car,i did this with a transit van,on an agreed value this worked out at £122.73 TPFT.

Is your transit lowered?

I had trouble finding anyone that would do it as a private car and still allow business use (just like I had with my Focus)

Maybe next year it'll be time to go back to a car. :-(

no,it was raised 8 inches with 4x4 wheels and tyres, but it didnt matter, as an agreed value means you can mod it as much as you like including bigger engine and it doesn't effect the price of insurance, you could spend thousands on it but in the event of a claim you'd only get the value that you agreed on with the insurace company.

That sounds like a much better way to go! Where did you get this from?
