Flywheel

Featured Replies

I have 2007 1.9 tdi superb can you get a solid flywheel for this car and if you do put one in what would the symptons be from the floating tks

Hi gedc40,

This may be no use to you but, a mechanic friend of mine fitted a solid flywheel to a MK3 mondeo diesel after the original failed and it didn't work for long. Can't remember exactly what happened but I'm guessing too much vibration caused problems. I don't know if you can get a solid f/wheel for the MK1 Superb. Google...? I'm sure the elder statesmen on the forum will be able to give you much more info on this.

I know this wasn't much help. but best of luck,

Cheers,

Rob

Lads got a floating flywheel in today engine still sounds rough anyone got any ideas can them engines be electronicly tuned or what any help appreciated.

You're best bet is to ask 'Roto Diesel', he's one of the experts on here.

Best of luck,

Rob

As for tuning, you can of course re-map these engines, but it doesn't sound like that's you're problem. They're a pretty solid unit and are well proven, so I hope you get to the bottom of it. Keep us posted. Cheers

Hi gedc & briskoda beign my 1st post.

my car used to shake like mad even the front wheels, so i changed (garage i use) the dual mass flywheel to a solid conversion, think it was £350 from europarts for the kit & it cured the problem :)

the car was horrible to drive before & even putting it into gear was rubbish, now it feels smooth to drive & change gear, the orig dual mass flywheel had come loose & jammed its self up this making it like a egg shape & given the car the vibrations.

hope this helps you out. Marc.
