Spacers with springs opinions...

Featured Replies

I have just got my Eibach pro spring kit for my 06 1.9tdi Elegance.

I have 17" Zenith alloys and I was wondering what size of spacers would fill the wheels out into the arches a bit once lowered.?

Any ideas on what size of spacers to use. Any pics would be handy.

Cheers

15mm hubcentric on the rear work well. You ideally need about 10mm for the front however some of the manufacturers have stopped producing them due to cracks around the hub as there is insufficient thickness in the metal.

I still hope to get some for the front but just have rears at the moment. Do a search there are pictures on here somewhere of mine

Yeah as mentioned 15mm rear and 10mm front is a good option.

Am I the only one who read the title as "spacers with spring onions"?

I'll get my coat. :|

No you're not! Get my coat while your at it!!

Are the spacers purely cosmetic or do they affect handling strength?

Glad it wasn't just me!!

I read it as spring onions twice!

Mainly cosmetic but as it widens the overall stance I think it feels a bit more planted.

Damian - can you recommend some good 10mm hubcentric spacers please? Are you aware of any that have become defective?

i run 20mm front and rear with 17 zeniths, no problem.

Me too..can't think that onions would be a good substitute though !

20mm fronts? Your wheels / tyres must stand proud of the wheel arch?

i have the eibach springs and the car look nice, but i like it more with 18 zeniths and 15mm spacers front and back for my summer set up.

20mm on 17 zenith in front is no problem at all, at the back ... maybe because of the koni fsd damper i have issues only on full load over speed bumps.
