throttle

Featured Replies

hi im having some trouble with my 95 felicia it runs ok on tick over but as soon as you put some revs on it is as if something is blocking it and tries to cut out but when you let off the revs its ok again any info would be great.

I'm guessing a blocked jet in carburretor.

Strip and blow out with air hose.

what engine type is it?

If it's the 1.3mpi I had the exact same problem when I bought mine. Cleaning the throttle body seemed to sole it completely.

I'd guess at this too. The engine vents crankcase gasses back to the throttle body and takes along with it some oil vapours etc which in time eventually gum up on the throttle body. A little carb cleaner is all that's needed.

I would say its the SPi on a 1996 to be honest

i took the crankcase vent hose off and put on a small cone filter and blocked off the intake at the throttle body, there's no need for these gasses to be going into the intake as it has no effect on the engine output!!

Yep I think it's just there for emissions compliance, those gasses when re-burned are less toxic - or something like that.

Had similar on a SPi some years ago, reading the fault codes pointed us in the direction of the injector unit. We disassembled the base (I think) to find a worn track on the etched electrical circuit, sorted it by replacing the injector unit. I recall at the time, we priced a new one at over £750.
