Having picked up my Octavia vRS three weeks ago, I can't help but feeling that the ICE is the one thing that lets it down.

It came with the MDF2 head unit which I like in most respects, but by heck, is the treble shrill! It's not too bad with the radio and CD (though it certainly needs to be toned down) but it's almost unbearable with my iPod.

I don't have the money to replace the head unit, so what choices do I have to improve the situation?

i know it's not ideal but on the ipod/itunes you can set up equalizer presets for playback, so you could just turn down the higher frequencies on there
