Hello all,im a new fabia vrs owner,its a black 55 plate with 52k.

I have fancied a vrs for a long time and have looked on this forum many times to get a feel for

the cars pro`s and cons.So far iv loved and been very surprised by the cars performance (i suspect its been re-mapped but dont know for sure)

along with very good mpg,its not much slower than my previous saab 95 aero and about doubles its mpg! But,i have a problem.The steering warning light is on.

At first the steering was VERY heavy when parking but lightened up with a little speed.After a while this changed to the steering assistance either worked fine with a little lumpiness at low speeds or it didnt work at all.I changed the steering angle sensor which has done nothing,the car is currently in with the garage i use having just had the steering pump replaced.The steering now has assistance but is now very lumpy with the warning light still on and the mechanic scratching his head.He`s checked all the electric feeds etc,the garage does have experience of fabia steering probs but cant find the problem so far with my fabia.

My labour and parts bill is rising as my will to live is dropping!Its a great wee car thats a real joy to drive with power steering but its a real pain in the AR*E without it!!

I really need some help.......please please help my injured furbie and my soon to be empty bank account!!

Hello,yes i have had a look at it,i will try printing it off and give it to the mechanic.I suppose i was just hoping someone would read my woe`s and say "thats what happened to me and here`s how to fix it".......Grasping at straws,i no. :(

Thankyou for the warm welcome,as you have probably read im having great problems getting to the bottom of my vrs`s steering problem.I printed out the guide to the fabias potential steering problems on the fabia 1 forum which my mechanic found very interesting as there were things there that he didnt know/think of,so hopefully i will get the car back on the road soon.Other than the steering problem i have been very very impressed with the car and i can definately see why they are so highly regarded.Anyway,when i find out what the problem is i will let you all know,it may help someone later with a similar problem.
