SEAT Sport FMIC.

Featured Replies

Was looking through Seatcupra forums over the past couple of days. Little bro has an Ibiza FR TDI he's looking to upgrade.

Found some disturbing posts on there about the SEAT Sport not holding together under high boost! And some members not recommending its use with hybrid turbos/high boost.

Would be nice to know what went wrong where the IC has blown. Either manufacturing fault or a large amount of overboost?!

Just read the link, no detail is there? Pretty sure the original quoted bit is pretty old too tbh, sure i read it when i bought mine. No telling how old or how much power its been running. The amount of people running them now i`d expect a few of them to have gone pop by now tbh if there was any real issues.

I'm putting mine through it's paces with no problems so far... I'll keep you updated though obviously.

mine's been replaced as the original was leaking

Yeah mines did around 60-70k at hybrid power and is still going now

As far as I understood, there were quality issues with initial welds, however the oem replacement from dealer (just the part to buy)had this issue sorted out.

It seems only people who had them fitted from standard blew them up, not fitted as a spare pert from dealer.

Has anyone got the part number for this intercooler??

25k with no problems

Suppose its always possible as it made of similar material as the standard SMIC but if there was a problem i assume seat woulda revised the design maybe on the later editions
