Hi there,

I need a new wiper motor for my 2002 Octavia L&K - I'm being quoted around €130 (£115) plus VAT here in Ireland. Apparently Skoda spares have to come from the UK to Ireland anyway - any idea how much it would cost from a UK Skoda dealer?

Sorry - forgot to say front wiper motor

don't want to hijack this thread, but what are the symptoms? my wipers are clicking somewhere from under the dash (between CCM module and fuse box), but only when the wipers are in vertical position. any ideas?

vagcom is not giving me any codes (yet).

Hijack away! Symptoms are fairly straight forward - sometimes the wipers work and sometimes they don't! And no, they're not stuck on intermittent. They literally seem to have a mind of their own and can park anywhere or work perfectly for any length of time.

Tried all the usual tricks - taking out fuse for rear wiper etc but to no avail. My local tame mechanic checked it out and broke the bad news to me.

I've managed to track down a wiper motor from a scrapped Octy for €70 so hopefully will be back in action shortly.

Make sure that the linkage is not seized. That is usually what kills the motors.
